Parking in Metered Areas
Good to know
-
- Head-in parking is required. Vehicles must be parked with the front of the vehicle toward the curb or edge of pavement in all angled or perpendicular parking spaces. (Handicap-accessible vehicles are exempted from the head-in parking requirement.)
-
- Vehicles with handicap permits must pay meter fees.
-
- Parking meters have a 12-hour maximum limit with the exception of those at Grove Park and 30-minute spaces.
-
- All 30-minute spaces require payment during the parking season.
-
- Meters require inputting all letters and numbers on your license plate.
-
- There’s no need to place a receipt on your vehicle’s dash; parking payment is enforced using license plate reader technology.
-
- Meter payments are nonrefundable.
Tips for using the multispace pay stations
-
- Input information and payment utilizing the pay station closest to your parking space.
-
- Press any key to activate the meter BEFORE entering the first digit/letter of your license plate number.
-
- Enter all letters and numbers on your license plate (including PC on Delaware plates).
-
- Select buy or extend parking time.
Tips for using the ParkMobile app
-
- Be sure that you’ve entered or selected the actual vehicle you are parking; many app users have multiple vehicles assigned to their account.
-
- Be sure that your parking location is set to Rehoboth Beach.
-
- If you’re unsure of the zone number in which you are parking (zone numbers are located on signs and pay station kiosks), call the parking department at 302-227-6184 for assistance.
