Join the Rehoboth Beach Patrol Family

Bring your hearts, your brains, and your courage: The Rehoboth Beach Patrol is adding to its lifeguard family for the summer 2025 season.
Interested individuals should complete, print, and bring applications to one of the scheduled tryouts:
- Saturday, March 22 – noon at the Sussex County YMCA, 20080 Church Street, Rehoboth Beach
- Saturday, March 29 – 8 am at Lake Forest High School, 5407 Killens Pond Road, Felton (rear parking lot near the pool)
- Saturday, April 5 – 10 am at Sussex Academy of Arts & Sciences, 21150 Airport Road, Georgetown (pool entrance)
Tryouts consist of swimming tests, simulated cross-chest and deep-water pool rescues, a mile run, pushups, and sit-ups. Applicants must be at least 16 years old by Memorial Day weekend and certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.
Starting pay for ocean rescue personnel is $21/hour, with longevity bonuses for those who work the entire season. Full-time positions are guaranteed 40 hours per week, with weekends and holidays required.
