City of Rehoboth Beach, Rehoboth Elementary students to celebrate Arbor Day April 17

The City of Rehoboth Beach will celebrate Arbor Day Thursday, April 17, with a tree-planting ceremony with Rehoboth Elementary School fifth graders. The event is open to the public and will begin at 9:15 am on the grounds of Rehoboth Elementary School near the community garden.

Grade-level winners of the statewide “Trees are terrific… and color our world” poster contest, sponsored by the Delaware Forest Service, will be recognized by the Rehoboth Art League. Posters created by Rehoboth Elementary fourth- and fifth-grade students will be displayed in the atrium of City Hall beginning April 22.

The City of Rehoboth Beach is celebrating its 34th consecutive year as a Tree City USA. This designation highlights the city’s commitment to planting and preserving trees through city policy and community efforts.
